James Clarence Beneventi, “Benny,” “Jim”, 67, of Beckley, West Virginia, peacefully passed away in his sleep on July 1, 2026. Born in Fort Carson, Colorado, on January 10, 1959. 

He served in the US Air Force from 1978 to 1982. He was a mechanic by trade. 

Although he spent most of his adult life in Illinois, he considered Ansted, West Virginia home. 

Jim had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude. In his younger years, he enjoyed roller skating, fishing, hunting, and swimming. Later in life, he enjoyed being outdoors, riding his scooter, NASCAR, old sitcoms and westerns, and spending time with family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Lois Beneventi; father, Robert L. Beneventi; grandparents, Clarence and Dana Hypes; nephew, Donnie Beneventi; and great-nephew, Alex Allen. 

He is survived by his brother Robert L Beneventi Jr., sisters Shirley A Kirkpatrick and Susan Beneventi – Sandubrae. His children Treasure Vest (Daniel), Jeremy Brown, Shaun Beneventi, and Jenifer Mbarki (Bilel). Grandchildren, Jorden Vest, D L Vest, Dana Marie Brown, Jeremy Lawson Brown Jr., Marissa Perez – Beneventi, Jonathan Perez – Beneventi, Nicholas Mbarki and Haley Beneventi and her son P J Jordan along with four nieces and two nephews. He was especially close to nieces Renee Willis and Sherri Willis and great-niece Madison Willis and her daughter Allieyn Hosley, whom “Uncle Benny” called his “lil riding buddy”. As he loved giving her rides on his scooter as much as she enjoyed it. His best friend Kim Helton and her son Kayden. They brought Jim a lot of joy and happiness. 

Jim will be missed and loved always. 

Jim’s wishes were to be cremated and have no services.
